As someone who has attended workshops with dull presentations, endless text-filled slides, and engaging presenters, I understand the importance of a dynamic and personable speaker. You want a presentation that is not only educational, but also enjoyable and memorable. That’s where I come in!
My name is Vanessa De Jesus Guzman and I am a licensed professional counselor, speaker and educator with over two decades of experience in working with children, families, educators and other stakeholders. I specialize in topics related to mindfulness, mindset, mental health, parenting, social emotional learning and overall well-being. My presentations use theories and practical “real life” applications to keep both in-person and virtual audiences engaged and present.
With 20 years of experience working with children and families in various roles including certified teacher, school counselor, in-home clinician, group facilitator and licensed therapist, I have the expertise to break down mental health barriers for audiences in need of learning more around the topics of anxiety, perfectionism, transitions, identity issues and social skills. I have been featured on the Today Show, Univision, various K-12 public schools, colleges and universities, and panels for numerous organizations.
All of my presentations and workshops are designed to help participants LEARN though targeted education, GROW with tools for change and leave INSPIRED to immediately implement strategies. I tailor my presentations to meet the needs of my audience, ensuring that everyone receives practical and relevant information. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and expertise with others and helping them make meaningful and lasting changes in their lives.
Contact me today to discuss how we can work together to make your event a success.

Awards
Bergen County K-8 Counselor of the Year 2012
Bergen County School Counselor Association (BCSCA) presents one K-8 counselor with a K-8 School Counselor of the Year award each year. Submissions for this award are chosen from students who independently nominate their school counselor. In 2012 I was chosen as the recipient of this award out of a pool of qualified nominees. The award was presented at the BCSCA 2012 awards dinner.
The College of New Jersey's
School Counselor of the Year Award 2009
The College of New Jersey presents one graduate with the School Counselor of the Year Award every year. The recipient of the award is chosen by TCNJ's Counselor Education faculty. I was honored to be presented with this award on the same evening as being inducted into Chi Iota Sigma International Honor Society for Counseling Professionals.
