   Frequently Asked Questions

What are your counseling hours?

Free to Be Mindful has convenient hours for children to attend after school, in addition to morning weekend hours. Please contact me to schedule.

How much does each session cost?

The rate of individual sessions, group counseling sessions, and parent support sessions all vary. When working with children, the session fee includes parent updates and communication with schools.

All major debit / credit cards are accepted; sessions payable at the time of session.  Please CONTACT ME for more details.

Do you take insurance?

I am considered an out-of-network provider. For individual counseling sessions, you pay each session upfront and I would provide you with a superbill (fancy word for a receipt or invoice) for each session. You can then submit that document to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

I highly recommend contacting your insurance provider before scheduling your first session and asking the following questions, as all providers have different requirements:

  • Does my policy cover mental health or behavioral health services?

  • Do you reimburse for visits with out-of-network providers?

  • What is the procedure for reimbursement?

  • Will I be reimbursed the full amount, or just a portion?

  • What is my deductible? Has it been met?

  • Do I need a referral from my primary care physician to receive reimbursement for services?

Feel free to CONTACT ME for more details. I am also happy to answer questions and provide referrals or resources, if needed.

How long will my child be in therapy?

Each individual counseling session is between 45-50 minutes. Group counseling sessions are 75 minutes. Initial intakes with parents (for child clients) and educational consultations with parents are both 90 minutes.

How long is the therapeutic process? That differs depending on each child and family. We begin meeting once a week. As treatment progresses and goals are accomplished, the frequency of sessions can be changed to better fit your needs.

Do you only work with children?

While I primarily work with kids and moms, I do have adult clients as well! My main goal is always for folks to be served in the best way possible. If after a free consultation I feel I may not be able to provide the level of service you may need, I then refer you to providers who will.

Do you provide a free initial consultation?

Absolutely! It’s important for us both to have the opportunity to “meet” each other to see if we’re a good fit. If we determine it may not work out, I am always happy and willing to provide referrals which may be better suited for your needs.

To schedule a free 10-minute consultation, complete this form and let me know when would be best to call you.
